Prolex D Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous and congestion. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which helps relieve nasal congestion. this combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
How to use Prolex D: Take this medication by mouth. meds should be swallowed whole. don't crush or chew them. If stomach upset occurs, this may be taken with food or milk. Take this drug as directed. do not increase the dose or take it more often or longer than prescribed. it is recommended to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses day) to help relieve congestion.
Prolex D side effects: Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may occur the 1-st some days as your body adjusts to medication. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your physician. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficult or painful urination, difficulty sleeping. Because this medication may cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness & avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate this effect. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Prolex D Precautions: Tell you're doctor if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history of seizures. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risk and benefits with your physician. Its not known if it med appears in breast milk; consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Prolex D drug interactions: Tell some your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, drug for depression, drug since hypertension. Tell your doctor if you have, in last two weeks, taken any MAO inhibitors: furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine, linezolid. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.
Prolex D Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include headache, dizziness, blurred vision, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, numbness of the fingers, vomiting, drowsiness, fatigue, or seizures.
Prolex D special notes: don't share this product with others.
If you missed Prolex D dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if this is almost clock for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Prolex D Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. do not store in the bathroom.
