Robitussin DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. it combination pill is used to treat cough associated with common cold, allergies & another respiratory illnesses.
How to use Robitussin DM: Take this drug as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. don't increase your dose or take this more often than directed. Capsules and long-acting meds must be swallowed whole with a full glass of water. do not crush or chew them. the long action will be destroyed & the chance of side effects will be increased.
Robitussin DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur the first some days as you're body adjusts to the drug. If any about these effects continue or become bothersome, inform some your doctor. Notify you're pharmacist if you develop any of these effects while taking this med: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if this drug makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Robitussin DM Precautions: Tell you're doctor you're medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Robitussin DM medication interactions: Tell youre healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine with-out healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Robitussin DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.
Robitussin DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it medication. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Robitussin DM dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Robitussin DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store in the bathroom.
