Warning: Aldesleukin must be given in hospital setting. it must be used with extreme caution at patients with heart or lung problems. Infrequently, this medication can cause capillary leak syndrome (CLS), serious condition that can rarely be fatal. If you develop any about following signs of CLS, notify your physician immediately: swelling (edema), severe dizziness, fainting, irregular heartbeat, chest pain (angina), trouble breathing, change in urine amount, mental/mood changes, severe stomach/abdominal pain, or black stools. Aldesleukin can also make you prone to serious infections. Before using this medication, tell your doctor if you currently have any infections. If you develop any of following signs of infection, notify your pharmacist immediately: persistent sore throat or fever. Stop using aldesleukin and notify youre healthcare professional immediately if this drug makes you unusually sleepy.
Proleukin Usage: Aldesleukin is used to treat certain types about cancer.
Proleukin canbe used also for: this medication may also be used since Kaposi's sarcoma.
How to use Proleukin: this tablet is given by injection into a vein over a 15 minute period by health care professional. it may also be given by another routes of administration. this is usually given three times day, but the dose may be stopped or held based on response.
Proleukin side effects: Fever, chills, itching or stomach upset may occur first several days as your body adjusts to the tablet. other side effects include dry skin, muscle aches, diarrhea, mouth sores, dizziness, headache, weight gain, swelling of hands or feet. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. this medication can cause blood disorders. Laboratory tests will be done to monitor for it and other possible side effects. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, a rapid heartbeat, depression, mental confusion, skin rash, weakness, fatigue, unusual bleeding or bruising, breathing trouble, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or doctor.
Proleukin Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, liver disease, lung disease, seizure disorder, thyroid disorder, infections, any allergies. it drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. it is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Proleukin med interactions: Tell you're doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you use, especially about: corticosteroids, indomethacin, blood pressure tablets, antidepressants, anti-anxiety drugs, other anti-cancer medication. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or doctor approval.
Proleukin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
