Pce Usage: Erythromycin is macrolide antibiotic used to treat wide variety about bacterial infections.
How to use Pce: Swallow drug whole to prevent stomach upset. May be taken with food or milk if stomach upset does occur. Antibiotics work best when amount of medicine in your body is kept at constant level. Do this by taking the drug at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day & night. Continue to take this drug until full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a several days. Stopping the pill too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in a relapse about infection.
Pce side effects: can cause stomach upset, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting & stomach cramps the 1st few days as your body adjusts to drug. If these symptoms persist or become severe, inform you're healthcare professional. Notify your pharmacist if you develop symptoms of jaundice such as dark urine, clay-colored stools or yellowing about eyes or skin. at the unlikely series you have an allergic reaction to it drug, seek healthcare attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness or trouble breathing. Use about this tablet for prolonged or repeated periods may result in secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection) If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or doctor.
Pce Precautions: Tell some your healthcare professional you're medical history, especially of liver disease/jaundice, & of any allergies you may have. Caution is advised when this medication is used in infants. Though very unlikely to happen, a stomach problem called IHPS (infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis) has been noted. Contact your child's doctor immediately if the children has persistent vomiting or increased irritability. this drug must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Small amounts about drug appear in breast milk. Consult you're doctor before breast-feeding.
Pce drug interactions: Tell your pharmacist about all the medications you may use, (prescription & nonprescription) especially of following: carbamazepine, cyclosporine, theophylline, certain benzodiazepines (e.g., midazolam, triazolam), warfarin, felodipine (a calcium channel blocker), cisapride, birth control pills, corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), digoxin, ergotamine-containing medications, sildenafil, certain live vaccines, disopyramide, phenytoin, all other antibiotics, certain medications for high cholesterol (e.g., lovastatin). other pills besides erythromycin which may affect the heart rhythm (QTc prolongation at the EKG) include dofetilide, pimozide, quinidine, sotalol, procainamide, and sparfloxacin among others. QTc prolongation can infrequently result in serious, rarely fatal, irregular heartbeats. Consult your pharmacist or pharmacist for details. Ask for instructions about whether you need to stop any other QTc-prolonging drugs you may be using at order to minimize the risk about this effect. this medication may interfere with effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your physician. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Pce Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include stomach cramping, nausea, vomiting, & diarrhea.
Pce special notes: it pill has been prescribed for your current condition only. do not use it later since another infection or give it to someone else. different medication may be necessary.
If you missed Pce dose: If you must miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered unless Its almost time for the next dose. If Its nearly time for next dose, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose.
Pce Storage: Store at room temperature away from moisture and sunlight. do not store in bathroom.
