Decongestant - nasal spray
Dristan Usage: it pill promotes nasal drainage and relieves nasal stuffiness. it is used to relieve symptoms associated with cold, hay fever, allergies, sinus infections & other related conditions. it is also used to relieve plugged ears.
How to use Dristan: it drug is used in nose as directed. To apply nasal spray, first blow some your nose to help improve penetration of the tablet. Keeping you're head upright, place the nasal spray just inside nostril being careful not to touch container to the inside of nose. Squeeze container as you inhale deeply through you're nose. Sniff hard a some times to be sure the medication reaches deep in to nose. do not use this more often than directed or increase your dose. Therapy usually lasts for 3 to 5 days. Excessive use of this medication can actually increase nasal congestion.
Dristan side effects: Stinging, burning, sneezing, increased nasal discharge, drying of nostrils, & altered taste may occur. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform some your physician. Notify you're pharmacist if you develop: rapid or pounding heartbeat, dizziness, trouble sleeping, shaking of hands, tremors, unusual weakness. this medication may cause dizziness. Use caution engaging at activities requiring alertness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.
Dristan Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: heart problems, thyroid disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, seizure disorder, glaucoma, allergies (especially to sulfites). elderly & kid may be more susceptible to effects about this medication. Use it with caution. it medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your doctor. since small amounts of this medication found in breast milk, consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Dristan drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription med you may take especially of: HBP drugs, antidepressants, cough-and-cold or allergy meds. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or physician approval.
Dristan Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, unconsciousness, sweating, dizziness, headache, or unusually quick heartbeat.
Dristan special notes: there are various nasal decongestants available, many without a prescription. Discuss with youre healthcare professional or pharmacist best product for you.
If you missed Dristan dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if Its near the time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Dristan Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 & 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in the bathroom. do not share container with anyone else. Throw away container when drug is no longer required.
