Phenazopyridine PLUS Usage: this medication is used to treat symptoms of urinary tract (bladder) infections such as pain, burning, urinary urgency and frequency.
How to use Phenazopyridine PLUS: Take this medication by mouth as directed usually with food or after meals. Take each dose with a full glass of water & drink plenty about fluids while taking this.
Phenazopyridine PLUS side effects: Stomach upset, headache, dry mouth, drowsiness, dizziness or blurred vision may occur. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your physician. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use saliva substitute. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, unusual bruising, pale fingernails, unusual weakness, fever, mental confusion, skin rash. it medication causes urine to turn orange-red in color. do not be alarmed. this effect is temporary & will disappear when the med is stopped. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Phenazopyridine PLUS Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: kidney problems, liver disease, stomach or intestinal disorders, glaucoma, any allergies. Because this med may cause drowsiness or blurred vision, use caution driving or performing tasks requiring alertness. Avoid alcoholic beverages while using this medication, for alcohol may intensify side effects of it medication. it tablet isn't recommended since use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before using this medication. this combination product contains barbiturate. Barbiturates pass in to breast milk which has resulted in producing undesirable effects on nursing infants. Using this drug while breast-feeding isn't recommended.
Phenazopyridine PLUS drug interactions: Tell you're doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you take, especially of: blood pressure meds, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), sleeping pills. it drug may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or healthcare professional approval.
Phenazopyridine PLUS Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include headache, nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, dilated pupils, hot & dry skin, drowsiness, dizziness, difficulty swallowing, seizures, and loss of consciousness.
Phenazopyridine PLUS special notes: do not share this medication with others.
If you missed Phenazopyridine PLUS dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Phenazopyridine PLUS Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
