Pneumotussin HC Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Hydrocodone is a narcotic pain reliever at low-dose which suppresses a cough. it combination pill is used to treat cough & symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Pneumotussin HC: Take it drug as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. this med is best taken with full glass about water after meal or snack.
Pneumotussin HC side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, constipation, nausea or stomach upset may occur first several days as you're body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, mental confusion, hallucinations, breathing trouble. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Pneumotussin HC Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), HBP, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, emotional problems, history about drug dependency, allergies (especially drug allergies). Pneumotussin HC drug interactions: Tell your doctor of every over-the-counter and prescription drug you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, cimetidine. Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking it medication. do not start or stop any medicine with out healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Pneumotussin HC Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include slowed breathing, drowsiness, deep sleep or loss of consciousness, cold & clammy skin, dry mouth, and slow pulse.
Pneumotussin HC special notes: Drink plenty about fluids, especially water while taking this medication. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Pneumotussin HC dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take this if this is near clock since the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Pneumotussin HC Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
