Neomycin/polymyxin/steroid suspension - ophthalmic/otic

Neomycin Polymyxin HC Usage: it pill is used to treat or prevent eye or ear infections.

How to use Neomycin Polymyxin HC: for best results, use it medication exactly as directed. Continue using it for full time prescribed. Stopping this medication too soon may not clear infection and may result in relapse of illness. EYE: Apply eye drops to the affected eyes as follows. Wash hands first. To avoid contamination, do not touch dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface. Shake the eye drops before using. Tilt youre head back, gaze upward & pull down the lower eyelid to make pouch. Place dropper directly over the eye & administer the prescribed number of drops. look downward & gently close your eye for 1 to two minutes. Place one finger at corner of the eye near your nose & apply gentle pressure. this will prevent pill from draining away from the eye. do not blink or rub eye. do not rinse dropper after use. Replace cap tightly. If you are using another kind of eye drop, wait at least five minutes before applying another medications. EAR: To apply ear drops, wash hands first. Follow same rules to avoid contamination as noted above. Lie on your side or tilt the affected ear upward. Place the dropper directly over the ear & administer the prescribed number of drops. To roll drops in to ear - Adults: pull ear lobe up & back. Children: pull ear lobe down & back. Keep the head tilted for about 2 minutes or insert a soft cotton plug if directed to do so by youre doctor. do not rinse the dropper. Replace cap after use.

Neomycin Polymyxin HC side effects: this medication may temporarily sting or burn for a minute or 2 when applied. If it continues or becomes bothersome, inform you're physician. Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable for short while after applying eye drops. Use caution if driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. Notify youre doctor immediately if you develop: skin rash, itching, burning, redness, pain, swelling in or around eyes/ears, other vision/hearing problems. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or physician.

Neomycin Polymyxin HC Precautions: Tell youre healthcare professional of every eye problems (for eye drops) or ear problems (for ear drops) & of any allergies you may have. this pill must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor.

Neomycin Polymyxin HC drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription pill you may take. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.

Neomycin Polymyxin HC Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

Neomycin Polymyxin HC special notes: If condition for which it was prescribed does not improve or becomes worse after few days, consult your pharmacist.

If you missed Neomycin Polymyxin HC dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use it if it is near time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Neomycin Polymyxin HC Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. Discard it after expiration date.
