Pneumotussin Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Hydrocodone is narcotic pain reliever in low-dose which suppresses cough. it combination drug is used to treat cough & symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Pneumotussin: Take this drug as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. don't increase your dose or take this more often than directed. this drug is best taken with full glass of water after meal or snack.
Pneumotussin side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, constipation, nausea or stomach upset may occur 1'st some days as you're body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. Notify your physician if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, mental confusion, hallucinations, breathing trouble. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit youre intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're physician or pharmacist.
Pneumotussin Precautions: Tell you're healthcare professional if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), hypertension, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, emotional problems, history of drug dependency, allergies (especially drug allergies). Pneumotussin drug interactions: Tell youre physician of all over-the-counter & prescription medication you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, cimetidine. Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Pneumotussin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include slowed breathing, drowsiness, deep sleep or loss of consciousness, cold & clammy skin, dry mouth, and slow pulse.
Pneumotussin special notes: Drink plenty about fluids, especially water while taking this drug. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Pneumotussin dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take it if this is near clock since following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Pneumotussin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store at the bathroom.
