Minocin Usage: Minocycline is an antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections.
How to use Minocin: this drug should be administered as directed by your doctor. Antibiotics work best when the amount about medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Do this by using medication at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day & night. Continue to use this medication until full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the tablet too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in a relapse of the infection.
Minocin side effects: this drug may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, dizziness, unsteadiness, drowsiness, headache or vomiting. If these symptoms persist or worsen, notify your healthcare professional. Unlikely but report promptly: fever, increased thirst, sore throat, mouth, yellowing eyes & skin, vision/mental changes. in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.
Minocin Precautions: Tell you're pharmacist your medical history, especially of: kidney or liver problems, allergies (especially medication allergies). Use of this medication since prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). this drug may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. To minimize dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from seated or lying position. Minocycline increases sensitivity to sunlight. Avoid prolonged sun exposure. Wear protective clothing & use a sunscreen if needed. Caution is advised when using this med in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to effects of the drug. it medication must not be used by children up to 8 years of age because Its use may permanently discolor their teeth or cause other problems. Caution is advised in older children also. this drug is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your physician before using it medication. it drug is excreted into breast milk & has been shown to have undesirable effects on nursing infants. Therefore, It's use isnot recommended while breast-feeding. Consult your doctor before you breast-feed.
Minocin medication interactions: Inform you're doctor about every medicines you use (both prescription and nonprescription), especially of: penicillin-type antibiotics, live vaccines, warfarin, digoxin, methoxyflurane. this medicine may decrease effectiveness of oral contraceptives. Consult your physician or physician about another types of birth control. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.
Minocin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Minocin special notes: this medication has been prescribed for your current condition only. do not use it later for another infection or give it to someone else. a different med may be necessary.
If you missed Minocin dose: If you should miss dose, use it as soon as remembered unless it is almost clock for next dose. If this is nearly time for next dose, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose.
Minocin Storage: this drug must be stored properly. Review storage instructions with your doctor or pharmacist. Intravenous bags to be stored at the refrigerator.
