Guaifenesin/decongestant/narcotic antitussive liquid - oral
Hydro Gp Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant that loosen mucus. decongestant relieves nasal stuffiness. the low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control a cough. this combination drug is used to treat cough and relieve symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Hydro Gp: this medication is best taken with, or after, meal or snack. Take this med as prescribed. do not increase your dose or take it more often than directed.
Hydro Gp side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss about appetite, nausea or anxiety may occur the 1'st several days as your body adjusts to the drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit some your intake about alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, hypertension, painful or difficult urination, tremors, nervousness, trouble sleeping, hallucinations. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're doctor or pharmacist.
Hydro Gp Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, hypertension, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, history of pill dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this pill causes you to feel drowsy. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult youre pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you uncertain this product has PPA. this product should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your physician. at least one of ingredients in this combination product is known to be excreted into breast milk. Consult some your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Hydro Gp tablet interactions: Tell youre doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: blood pressure medications, antidepressants, MAO inhibitors (e.g., selegiline, linezolid, furazolidone, phenelzine, tranylcypromine), cimetidine. don't start or stop any medicine with out doctor or physician approval.
Hydro Gp Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include slow or shallow breathing, slow heart rate, small pupils, severe drowsiness, or unconsciousness.
Hydro Gp special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Hydro Gp dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if this is near time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Hydro Gp Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. don't store in bathroom.
