Decongestant/antihistamine/anticholinergic - oral

Drihist Sr Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. Antihistamines relieve runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose & throat & itchy, watery eyes. Anticholinergics have drying effect on mucous secretions. this combination drug is used to treat symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis and other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Drihist Sr: Take it drug as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. don't increase your dose or take this more often than directed. it med is best taken with a full glass of water after meal or snack. Long-acting tablets & capsules should be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew them or long action may be destroyed and the chance of side effects increased.

Drihist Sr side effects: Dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, blurred vision, constipation or dry mouth, nose and eyes may occur 1st few days as your body adjusts to the drug. If any about these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your physician. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake about alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use saliva substitute. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're doctor or pharmacist.

Drihist Sr Precautions: Tell you're healthcare professional if you have: pre-existing kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, any allergies. money this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your doctor promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with some your doctor. since small amounts of this medication are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Drihist Sr med interactions: Tell your healthcare professional about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: drug for blood pressure, medication for depression such as MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline). Tell your healthcare professional if you take pills that cause drowsiness such as: medicine for sleep, sedatives, tranquilizers, anti-anxiety drugs (e.g., diazepam), narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines (e.g., phenothiazines or tricyclics), anti- seizure drugs (e.g., carbamazepine), muscle relaxants. Limit your intake about alcoholic beverages while taking it medication. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Drihist Sr Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, headache, weakness, disorientation, hyperactivity, restlessness, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, fast breathing, fever, hot dry and flushed skin, seizures, or coma.

Drihist Sr special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this drug. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.

If you missed Drihist Sr dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take this if it is near the clock for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Drihist Sr Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
