Calcium supplements - oral
Cal Lac Usage: Calcium supplements used to ensure an adequate intake of calcium during important periods about bone growth such as in childhood, during pregnancy and while breast-feeding. in adults, calcium is used to prevent osteoporosis (deterioration of bone).
How to use Cal Lac: Take with large glass of water during or after a meal. Use as directed. If you using chewable product, this should be chewed well before swallowing. If you using an effervescent pill, it must be dissolved in a glass of cold water or juice before taking this. Allow the med to stop fizzing before drinking. Drink liquid slowly. Because calcium can interfere with the absorption of other drugs, do not take other medications within two hours about taking calcium.
Cal Lac side effects: Calcium is generally well tolerated. High levels of calcium can cause few adverse effects. Notify your pharmacist if you experience any about the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, stomach pain, thirst, dry mouth, increased urination. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre physician or pharmacist.
Cal Lac Precautions: If you have any of following health problems, consult youre physician before using it drug: diarrhea, stomach trouble, parathyroid disease, lung disease (sarcoidosis), kidney stones. Tell your physician if you are pregnant before using this medication. some forms of calcium are known to be excreted into breast milk. Though they're have been no reports (to date) about harm to nursing infants, consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Cal Lac med interactions: Tell your pharmacist of all prescription & nonprescription medications you may use, especially: vitamins, tetracycline, quinolone antibiotics (e.g. ciprofloxacin), gallium nitrate, cellulose sodium phosphate, etidronate, magnesium sulfate, phenytoin. do not eat large amounts of bran or whole grain cereals & breads. They may reduce absorption of calcium. Also, consuming alcohol, large amounts of caffeine, & tobacco smoking may affect absorption about calcium. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Cal Lac Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include severe nausea & vomiting, weakness, or constipation.
Cal Lac special notes: Foods rich in calcium include: dairy products & leafy green vegetables such as broccoli, kale, and collards. watch for foods fortified with calcium such as orange juice & flour. there is no difference between calcium goods derived from natural or synthetic sources.
If you missed Cal Lac dose: Take missed dose as soon as possible but not if it is almost time for next dose. If Its clock for the next dose, skip the missed dose & resume your regular schedule. do not double dose.
Cal Lac Storage: Store at room temperature and keep away from moisture & sunlight. don't store in bathroom. do not freeze liquid forms.
