    Mupirocin - topical ointment

    (myou-peer-oh-sin)

    common brand names: Bactroban

    Centany Usage: it med is used to treat infections of the skin such as impetigo.

    How to use Centany: Clean & dry affected area before applying the drug. To apply, gently massage a small amount of med into affected area and surrounding skin three times daily or as directed by your healthcare professional. Cover with a loose fitting bandage if desired. Continue to use the drug as prescribed for the full time prescribed. Stopping therapy too early can result in re- infection. If no improvement is seen in 3 to three days, consult your physician. another drug may be necessary. Avoid using this drug around eyes, nose, mouth, or on large areas of damaged or broken skin unless directed otherwise by some your pharmacist.

    Centany side effects: this drug may cause burning, stinging or itching when first applied to skin. this should disappear at a few days as your body adjusts to drug. If these effects persist or worsen, inform youre doctor. Notify your pharmacist promptly if following effects occur: redness or swelling in treated area. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre physician or pharmacist.

    Centany Precautions: Tell your physician your medical history, especially: kidney disease, any allergies. Use about this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in secondary infection (e.g., fungal infection). Tell your physician if you pregnant before using this drug. Its not known if this medication is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

    Centany tablet interactions: Tell your physician of every medicines you may use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially of: chloramphenicol, any skin products. do not start or stop any medicine with out pharmacist or healthcare professional approval.

    Centany Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

    Centany special notes: this medication is prescribed for your current condition only. do not use it for another infection or share it with someone else. another infection later on may require different drug.

    If you missed Centany dose: If you miss a dose, apply as soon as remembered and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

    Centany Storage: Store ointment at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. Avoid freezing. do not store in bathroom.
