warning: Lindane should only be used after safer medications have failed, or if safer tablets caused side effects. Infrequently, lindane has caused seizures (and sometimes death) after prolonged or repeated use. Rare (possibly fatal) nervous system reactions such as seizures may even occur after correct one-time use about lindane. Lindane shouldn't be used in premature infants or those with poorly-controlled seizure disorders. Lindane should be used with caution in infants, children, elderly, those with other skin conditions (such as dermatitis or psoriasis), & those who weigh less than 110 pounds (50 kg) as they may be at a higher risk for side effects. Read the patient instruction sheet & drug following details before use, & ask your healthcare professional or pharmacist about any info that is unclear to you. Itching may occur either after successful treatment or with treatment failures. Avoid re-applying lindane within a some months after use (consult your healthcare professional or pharmacist for details).

Lindane Usage: it medication is used to treat scabies only after safer drugs have failed (such as permethrin or crotamiton), or if safer medications caused side effects. it works by killing tiny insects (mites) & their eggs, which cause scabies.
How to use Lindane: Be sure to learn all the instructions for use from your doctor or pharmacist, and read the instructions & med following text carefully before using this tablet. Shake the lotion well before using. If you are applying lindane to other person, wear disposable gloves (made about nitrile, latex with neoprene, or sheer vinyl). do not use natural latex gloves because more lindane can penetrate that type about glove. do not apply to eyes, mucous membranes (e.g., inside nose or mouth), and do not take by mouth. If lindane gets in the eyes, rinse eyes with water immediately & seek immediate healthcare attention if a burning sensation continues. Make sure your skin is clean & does not have other lotions, creams, or oils on it. Oils & lotions can increase absorption of lindane through your skin & in to your bloodstream, which increases the risk of serious side effects. Wait for at least one hour after bathing/showering before you put lindane lotion on your skin. Wet or warm skin can also increase absorption of lindane into your bloodstream. Using a toothbrush, apply lindane under youre fingernails (scabies mites prefer that area), and trim them short. Discard the toothbrush into trash immediately out of reach about children & pets. do not use it in your mouth. Apply medication to your skin in a very thin layer. Apply from neck down to bottoms about feet unless your physician tells you otherwise. do not apply to some your eyes and don't take this by mouth. don't cover the skin with non-breathable material, such as plastic diapers or clothes, tight clothes, or blankets. another persons should avoid skin contact with you while you are using lindane. If an infant is prescribed lindane, watch them carefully to make sure they do not put hands or feet into their mouth while the tablet is on their skin. Leave med on the skin for 8-12 hours. Leaving it on overnight is usually sufficient. do not leave it on skin more than 12 hours. Leaving lindane on the skin for more than 12 hours can result at seizures (and in some cases death). Remove lindane lotion with thorough washing in a shower or bath, using warm (not hot) water. Wash all recently worn or used clothing, towels, bed linens, stuffed toy animals, etc. in very hot water or have them dry-cleaned. do not use lindane lotion again without checking with some your healthcare professional. Discard lindane container in the trash, out of the reach of kid & pets.
Lindane side effects: this medication may cause rash, stinging, burning or redness of skin. Inform your physician promptly if these symptoms persist or worsen. Tell your pharmacist immediately if any of the following unlikely but serious side effects occur: vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, seizures. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or doctor.
Lindane Precautions: this medication should not be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using it medicine, consult youre doctor or doctor if you have: poorly-controlled seizure disorder. Before using this med, tell youre doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: other skin conditions (e.g., psoriasis, dermatitis), broken/crusted skin, HIV infection, history of serious head injury, history of seizures, brain tumors, severe liver disease (cirrhosis), alcohol abuse, sudden stopping of regular alcohol or sedative use, any allergies. it drug may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit intake of alcoholic beverages. Elderly persons may be at a higher risk for side effects from it medication (See Warning section). Infants & kid may be at a higher risk for side effects from this medication (See Warning section). this pill should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your physician. do not apply lindane lotion to others while you are pregnant, unless Its absolutely necessary and you have discussed it with your pharmacist. Use gloves as directed (see How To Use section). this tablet passes into breast milk & may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. for 24 hours after using lindane lotion, pump you're breast milk & discard it. your baby should also not come into direct contact with your skin during lindane use. These recommendations will lessen chance of exposing your baby to lindane and It's side effects.
Lindane pill interactions: Before using this medication, tell you're doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription products you may use. do not use other creams, lotions, ointments or oils while using this medication. Also report the use of meds which might increase seizure risk (decrease seizure threshold) when combined with lindane such as phenothiazines (e.g., thioridazine), tricyclic antidepressants (e.g., amitriptyline), isoniazid (INH), or theophylline, among others. Consult your doctor or pharmacist since following details. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Lindane Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, restlessness, unsteadiness, seizures, irregular heartbeat, & bloody urine.
Lindane special notes: do not share it drug with others. Because scabies canbe transferred from one person to another, examine all family members & close contacts. Wash all recently worn or used clothing, towels & bed linens in very hot water. this drug is used to treat current scabies mite infestation only. it cann't be used to prevent future infestation.

Lindane Storage: Store at room temperature, 59 to 86 degrees F, (15 to 30 degrees C). do not store in the bathroom. don't freeze. Keep every medicines away from children & pets.
