Iotussin HC Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control cough. antihistamine is for relief from sneezing, runny nose, water eyes. this combination product is used to treat symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, hay fever & other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Iotussin HC: Take this med as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. it medication is best taken with full glass about water after meal or snack.

Iotussin HC side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur 1st several days as youre body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit some your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify youre pharmacist if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your pharmacist or pharmacist.

Iotussin HC Precautions: Tell youre healthcare professional if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, a history about drug dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this med causes you to feel drowsy. check this product's ingredient list since phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. since small amounts about this medication found at breast milk, consult you're doctor before breast-feeding.

Iotussin HC medication interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping tablets, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine, narcotic pain medication (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this tablet. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or physician approval.

Iotussin HC Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, weakness, profuse sweating, slow or fast heartbeat, slow or shallow breathing, hyperactivity, fever, seizures, or unconsciousness.

Iotussin HC special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it medication. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.

If you missed Iotussin HC dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take this if Its near clock for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Iotussin HC Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store at bathroom.
