Codeine Sulfate Usage: it med is used to relieve moderate to severe pain.
How to use Codeine Sulfate: To prevent upset stomach, take with food or milk. Pain medications work best in preventing pain before it occurs. once the pain becomes intense, the medication isnt as effective at relieving this. Take this as prescribed. don't increase you're dose, take this more frequently or use it for longer period of time with-out your doctor's approval. Also, if used for long period of time at high doses, do not suddenly stop taking this without 1st consulting your healthcare professional. When used for extended periods, this drug may not work as well & may require different dosing. Consult your physician if med isn't relieving pain sufficiently.
Codeine Sulfate side effects: can cause constipation, lightheadedness, dizziness, drowsiness, stomach upset, nausea, & flushing the first few days as your body adjusts to med. If these symptoms persist or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. To minimize constipation, increase you're intake about fiber, drink plenty of water, & exercise. Stool softeners may be helpful. Ask youre pharmacist or pharmacist about stool softeners and laxatives. Notify your physician if you develop: irregular heartbeat, anxiety, tremors, seizures. in the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this pill, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Codeine Sulfate Precautions: Tell your physician if you allergic to any other narcotic pain medicine or have had substance abuse problems. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness. Alcoholic beverages or other sedatives may add to effects of this drug causing dizziness or drowsiness. Ask your healthcare professional or pharmacist about the use of alcohol. Caution is advised when using this medication in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the drug. it drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. this pill is excreted into breast milk & may affect infant. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Codeine Sulfate medication interactions: Tell youre healthcare professional of all prescription & nonprescription drugs you may be using especially: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), psychiatric drugs, tranquilizers, sleep medications, zidovudine, rifampin, other narcotic pain relievers, barbiturates, cimetidine, anti-seizure drugs, antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine), alcohol. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Codeine Sulfate Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include slow or shallow breathing, slow heart rate, small pupils, severe drowsiness, or unconsciousness.
Codeine Sulfate special notes: do not share this drug with others. this is against the law.
If you missed Codeine Sulfate dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if It's almost time for the following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Codeine Sulfate Storage: Store at room temperature away from light and moisture. do not store in the bathroom.
