Guaifenesin/dextromethorphan/decongestant - oral
Trikof D Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses a cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. this combination drug is used to treat cough and relieve symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis and other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Trikof D: this drug is best taken with full glass of water after a meal or snack. Swallow long acting tablets & capsules whole. don't crush or chew them because the long action will be destroyed & chance of side effects will be increased. Take this medication as prescribed. do not increase you're dose or take this more much times than directed.
Trikof D side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform you're pharmacist. Notify some your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or doctor.
Trikof D Precautions: Tell your physician your medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any med allergies. dollars it product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you uncertain this product has PPA. this med must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with you're doctor. this drug may be excreted into breast milk. Consult some your doctor before breast-feeding.
Trikof D drug interactions: Tell your doctor of all prescription & nonprescription medications you use, especially: tablet since blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Trikof D Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss about coordination, unusual movements of the eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change in behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or fast heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, large pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.
Trikof D special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it pill. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Trikof D dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if it is near time for the following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.
Trikof D Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store at bathroom.
