    Cyclopentolate hydrochloride - eye drops

    (sye-kloe-pen-toe-late)

    common brand names: Cyclogyl, Cylate, Pentolair

    Cyclogyl Usage: this medication is used to widen the pupil about eye before an exam or surgery.

    How to use Cyclogyl: To apply eye drops, wash hands first. To avoid contamination, don't touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface. Tilt youre head back, gaze upward & pull down the lower eyelid to make pouch. Place dropper directly over eye & administer the prescribed number about drops. see downward & gently close your eye for 1 to two minutes. Place one finger in corner of eye near the nose & apply gentle pressure. it will prevent drug from draining away from the eye. Try not to blink and don't rub the eye. don't rinse dropper. Replace cap after use. If you are using it medicine in child's eyes do not get any medicine in the child's mouth. Wash you're hands and youre child's hands to remove any medicine from them. don't feed an infant for 4 hours after infant's eye exam. the effect about this medicine may last for 24 hours or more.

    Cyclogyl side effects: a burning sensation in eyes, eye sensitivity to light, blurred vision or drowsiness (very uncommon) may occur. If these persist or worsen, notify your physician promptly. Unlikely but report promptly: an unusually fast heartbeat, change in behavior/mood, mental changes, eye pain/swelling/red- ness, headache, fever. Very unlikely but report promptly dizziness, slow or shallow breathing or seizures. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or physician.

    Cyclogyl Precautions: Tell your physician your medical history, including: allergies, eye problems (including glaucoma), brain disorders, heart disease. Caution is advised performing tasks requiring excellent vision (e.g. driving) for it medicine can cause eyes to be sensitive to light or blurred vision. Sunglasses are advised. this drug must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your pharmacist. it is not known whether this drug is excreted in to breast milk. Consult youre healthcare professional before breast-feeding. Caution is advised when this drug is used in children since it group may be more sensitive to side effects of this drug. Caution is advised when this medication is used at elderly since this group may be more sensitive to side effects of this drug.

    Cyclogyl tablet interactions: Tell your physician of every nonprescription & prescription med you may use, especially about: carbachol, pilocarpine, other eye medications. don't start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.

    Cyclogyl Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

    Cyclogyl special notes: do not share this medication with others.

    Cyclogyl Storage: Store at room temperature between 46 & 80 degrees F (8-27 degrees C) away from light & moisture.
