Refenesen Usage: this medication is used to relieve a dry cough and helps to loosen phlegm & mucous at the lungs so you can 'cough-up' (expectorate) mucous.
How to use Refenesen: Take each dose of this medication with a full glass of water. Water will also help break-up mucous and clear congestion. Drink plenty of fluids while taking this med, unless youre doctor instructs you otherwise. do not take it med for a chronic, persistent cough such as occurs with smoking or asthma unless directed by you're healthcare professional. If the cough lasts for more than one week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by fever, headache or rash, consult your healthcare professional.
Refenesen side effects: this medication may cause stomach upset or rash. If these effects persist or worsen, inform your healthcare professional. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Refenesen Precautions: If you have any of following health problems, consult your doctor before using this drug: breathing problems such as emphysema/chronic bronchitis/asthma, smoking, any allergies. this medication must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your healthcare professional. it isn't known if this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Refenesen medication interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of all the medicines you may use, (both prescription & nonprescription), especially: other cough-and-cold medicines. Guaifenesin may affect the results of certain lab tests. Be sure your caregivers aware you use it medicine before lab tests performed. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Refenesen Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, fatigue, weakness, dizziness, & unusually slow heartbeat.
Refenesen special notes: this medication comes in variety of dose forms such as tablets, capsules, long acting tablets or capsules and syrup. Ask your doctor or doctor to recommend the best product for you.
If you missed Refenesen dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; don't take if Its almost time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Refenesen Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in bathroom. don't freeze liquid forms of this tablet. do not store syrup in refrigerator.
