Maxifed DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. this combination med is used to treat a cough and relieve symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Maxifed DM: this pill is best taken with a full glass about water after meal or snack. Swallow long acting tablets and capsules whole. do not crush or chew them because the long action will be destroyed & the chance about side effects will be increased. Take this pill as prescribed. don't increase your dose or take this more often then directed.
Maxifed DM side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform you're pharmacist. Notify some your healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Maxifed DM Precautions: Tell your pharmacist your medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any drug allergies. dollars this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if this contains PPA or if you are uncertain it product has PPA. this drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with youre healthcare professional. this drug may be excreted in to breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Maxifed DM medication interactions: Tell your pharmacist of all prescription & nonprescription medications you use, especially: medication for blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit you're intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or doctor approval.
Maxifed DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of coordination, unusual movements of eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change in behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or fast heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, large pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.
Maxifed DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Maxifed DM dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near clock for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume you're usual dosing schedule. don't double dose to catch up.
Maxifed DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
