    Phenylephrine/shark liver oil/mineral oil/petrolatum - topical

    common brand names: Formulation R, Hemorrhoidal, Preparation H, Prompt Relief, Rectacaine

    Simular Drugs : Preparation H, Preparation H

    Preparation H Usage: this combination med is used to temporarily shrink hemorrhoids & to relieve the itching, burning, & discomfort caused by hemorrhoids.

    How to use Preparation H: Before using, clean affected area by gently patting with cleaning tissue. Dry region by gently patting with piece of dry tissue or clean cloth. Remove the protective cover from the applicator tip, attach applicator tip to drug tube, & lubricate the applicator tip. Gently insert the applicator tip into the rectum & apply little bit of this pill up to 4 times daily; or as directed by your healthcare professional. Apply some drug to the external region around rectum as well. After each use, clean the applicator tip well & replace the protective cover. Inform your doctor if your condition does not improve in 7 days.

    Preparation H side effects: No side effects expected to occur. If side effects occur, notify youre pharmacist promptly. If you notice any about the following unlikely but very serious side effects, stop using this pill & consult your pharmacist or doctor immediately: bleeding from rectum, increased pain (after inserting the applicator tip). If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or doctor.

    Preparation H Precautions: Tell youre pharmacist you're medical history, especially of: heart disease, HBP, thyroid disease, diabetes, prostate problems (enlarged prostate), any allergies. Tell youre healthcare professional if you are pregnant before using this drug. it isnot known if it pill passes in to breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

    Preparation H drug interactions: Tell your physician of every prescription & nonprescription drug you may use, especially: HBP medicine, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, isocarboxazid, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), SSRI antidepressants (e.g., fluoxetine, sertraline). do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or healthcare professional approval.

    Preparation H Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. it medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

    Preparation H special notes: for rectal and/or external use only.

    If you missed Preparation H dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as you remember. If Its near clock of the next dose, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.

    Preparation H Storage: Store at room temperature less than 80 degrees F (27 degrees C).

    Female, Age : 51-60 years old , Reason : haemorrhoid.
    Side Effects : state of shock
    Review : My experience of using this cream was very frightening indeed, and I think you really have to use it very sparingly and with caution. I went into shock after using it: extreme itching from the waist down, then I dropped my BP and went into respiratory distress.
