Lidocaine Prilocaine Usage: it medication is an anesthetic used on skin to prevent pain. it is used before certain procedures such as inserting IV lines, skin grafts or skin laser surgery where numbing of the skin & surrounding area is necessary.
How to use Lidocaine Prilocaine: this medication is for use on skin only. Apply to the skin area at the proper time as directed. length of time for medication to stay on skin depends on type of procedure you will undergo. However, it should be applied for a minimum about 1 hour before procedure. To apply, squeeze out prescribed amount of cream directly onto the skin. do not rub in. Cover with air-tight dressing (e.g., Tegaderm). Remove the paper frame & seal the edges only allowing the cream to remain in thick layer. Just prior to your medical procedure or when directed, remove dressing & cream & clean region thoroughly. don't use larger amounts than prescribed or leave it in place for longer than directed since the chance for side effects may be increased. Avoid contact with the eyes. Use cautiously near nose and mouth.
Lidocaine Prilocaine side effects: this medication can cause temporary redness, tingling or lightening of skin. If these symptoms continue or become worse inform your doctor. Notify your healthcare professional immediately if you develop blistering of skin where the medication is applied. Also report: breathing trouble, nervousness, dizziness, mental confusion. An allergic reaction to it tablet is unlikely, but seek immediate doctor attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact youre healthcare professional or healthcare professional.
Lidocaine Prilocaine Precautions: Tell your physician if you have: blood disorders, liver disease, allergies (especially to anesthetics). this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. It's not known if this pill is found at breast milk. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Lidocaine Prilocaine pill interactions: Tell youre healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription pill you may take, including: antibiotics (esp. sulfas & dapsone), nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin), phenytoin, phenobarbital, acetaminophen, benzocaine, chloroquine, phenacetin, quinine, primaquine, pamaquine, nitroprusside, lidocaine-like heart medicines (antiarrhythmics). don't start or stop any medicine with out doctor or healthcare professional approval.
Lidocaine Prilocaine Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Lidocaine Prilocaine special notes: Because this med numbs the area where applied, be careful not to bump, scratch or rub the skin. You will not feel it. Use caution until numbness fades & feelings return.
If you missed Lidocaine Prilocaine dose: If you miss dose, apply it as soon as remembered; do not use it if Its near the time for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Lidocaine Prilocaine Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat. check expiration date on tube & discard any expired medication.
