Neomycin/polymyxin/dexamethasone - ophthalmic ointment

Dexacine Usage: this medication is used to treat eye infections.
How to use Dexacine: since best effects, this drug must be used as directed. Continue using it for full time prescribed. Stopping this drug too soon may not clear the infection and could possibly result in reinfection. Apply eye ointment to the affected eyes as follows: Wash hands 1-st. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch the tube tip or let it touch your eye. Rolling the ointment tube in your hands for a minute will make the ointment flow easier. Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down lower eyelid to make a pouch. Place 1/4 to 1/2 inch of ointment in to the pouch by squeezing tube gently. Close the eye & roll eyeball in every directions to spread medication. Try not to blink and don't rub the eye. Wipe the tip of ointment tube with tissue to remove excess drug before capping it. If you are using an eye drop in addition to this medication, apply the eye drops first & wait at least five minutes before applying it eye ointment. If you using another type of eye ointment, wait at least ten minutes after using this med before applying it.
Dexacine side effects: this medication may temporarily sting or burn your eyes for minute or two when first applied. If this continues or becomes bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable since period after applying eye ointment. Use caution if driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. Notify you're pharmacist immediately if you develop: skin rash, itching/burning/redness/pain/swelling in or around the eyes, vision problems. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or physician.
Dexacine Precautions: Tell your physician if you have: other eye problems, allergies (especially to any antibiotics or sulfites). it medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Discuss risks & benefits with your pharmacist.
Dexacine drug interactions: Tell your physician about any over-the-counter or prescription med you may take. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or doctor approval.
Dexacine Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Dexacine special notes: If the condition for which this was prescribed does not improve or becomes worse after a few days, consult you're doctor.
If you missed Dexacine dose: If you miss dose, use this as soon as remembered; do not use it if Its near time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Dexacine Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. check the expiration date on the tube and discard any expired drug.
