Proparacaine - ophthalmic

Parcaine Usage: Proparacaine is used at eye as an anesthetic to numb the pain that may occur during eye procedures (e.g., surgery).
How to use Parcaine: Place this medication in the eyes usually just before procedure; or use as directed by your doctor. it may be necessary to repeat dose all 5 to 10 minutes but prolonged use is not recommended. Dosage is based on your medical condition & response to therapy. To apply eye drops, wash youre hands first. To avoid contamination, don't touch dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface. If you wearing contact lenses, remove them before using eye drops. than tilt your head back, gaze upward, & pull down lower eyelid to make pouch. Hold dropper directly over the eye and instill the prescribed number about drops. look downward & gently close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Place one finger at corner of eye near nose and apply gentle pressure. this will prevent the medication from draining away from the eye. Try not to blink and do not rub the eye. don't rinse the dropper. Replace the dropper cap after each use. If you are using another kind of eye medication (e.g., drops or ointments), wait at least five minutes before applying other meds. Use eye drops before eye ointments, to allow eye drops to enter eye. this medication solution should be clear to light yellow at color. If It's discolored (darker), do not use the solution.
Parcaine side effects: Redness, burning, or stinging about the eyes may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your pharmacist. Tell your pharmacist immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: eye pain, eye swelling, vision changes. Tell your physician immediately if dryness or cracking of skin on fingertips occurs. this may be sign of a skin allergy (e.g., allergic contact dermatitis). If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or physician.
Parcaine Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: other eye problems (e.g., cataracts, infections), allergies (especially drug allergies). Prolonged use about eye anesthetics is not recommended; doing so could cause permanent eye problems (e.g., corneal opacities) or loss about vision. this drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with some your healthcare professional. this isn't known if this medication passes in to breast milk. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Parcaine drug interactions: Tell some your doctor about all prescription & nonprescription medication you may use, especially of: other eye medications (drops or ointments). do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Parcaine Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medication may be harmful if swallowed. Symptoms about an overdose may include, loss of vision or irregular heartbeat.
Parcaine special notes: don't share this tablet with others.
If you missed Parcaine dose: If you miss a dose, contact youre doctor or pharmacist to establish a new dosing schedule.
Parcaine Storage: Refrigerate between 36 & 46 degrees F (2-8 degrees C) away from light & moisture.
