    Guaifenesin - oral

    Guaifenesin Sr Usage: this medication is used to relieve a dry cough and helps to loosen phlegm & mucous in lungs so you can 'cough-up' (expectorate) mucous.

    How to use Guaifenesin Sr: Take each dose of this medication with a full glass about water. Water will also help break-up mucous and clear congestion. Drink plenty of fluids while taking this med, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. do not take this drug for chronic, persistent cough such as occurs with smoking or asthma unless directed by some your pharmacist. If the cough lasts for more than one week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by a fever, headache or rash, consult your pharmacist.

    Guaifenesin Sr side effects: this drug can cause stomach upset or rash. If these effects persist or worsen, inform your pharmacist. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're healthcare professional or pharmacist.

    Guaifenesin Sr Precautions: If you have any about the next health problems, consult your pharmacist before using this medication: breathing problems such as emphysema/chronic bronchitis/asthma, smoking, any allergies. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your pharmacist. it isnt known if this medication is excreted in to breast milk. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.

    Guaifenesin Sr drug interactions: Tell your doctor of all medicines you may use, (both prescription & nonprescription), especially: another cough-and-cold medicines. Guaifenesin may affect results of certain lab tests. Be sure your caregivers are aware you use this medicine before lab tests are performed. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

    Guaifenesin Sr Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include drowsiness, fatigue, weakness, dizziness, & unusually slow heartbeat.

    Guaifenesin Sr special notes: this medication comes in variety of dose forms such as tablets, capsules, long acting tablets or capsules and a syrup. Ask your doctor or pharmacist to recommend the best product for you.

    If you missed Guaifenesin Sr dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.

    Guaifenesin Sr Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. do not store in the bathroom. don't freeze liquid forms of this drug. do not store syrup in refrigerator.
