Dex Gg Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant. it combination medication is used to treat a cough associated with common cold, allergies and other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Dex Gg: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. Capsules & long-acting pills should be swallowed whole with a full glass of water. do not crush or chew them. long action will be destroyed and chance about side effects will be increased.
Dex Gg side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur first few days as your body adjusts to drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. Notify youre physician if you develop any of these effects while taking this medication: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if this medication makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Dex Gg Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. this med should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. since small amounts about it drug are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Dex Gg drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional about any over-the-counter or prescription med you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.
Dex Gg Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.
Dex Gg special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this med. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Dex Gg dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if this is near the time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Dex Gg Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
