Profen Forte Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous and congestion. Pseudoephedrine is decongestant which helps relieve nasal congestion. this combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
How to use Profen Forte: Take it medication by mouth. it should be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew the tablet. If stomach upset occurs, this may be taken with food or milk. Take it tablet as directed. don't increase dose or take it more often or longer than prescribed. it is recommended to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses a day) to help relieve congestion.
Profen Forte side effects: Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may occur the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, a rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficulty urinating (men only), difficulty sleeping. Because this med may cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness & avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate this effect. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or healthcare professional.
Profen Forte Precautions: Tell your physician if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history of seizures. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It's not known if it medication appears in breast milk; consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Profen Forte medication interactions: Tell youre doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, medication for depression, drug for high blood pressure. Tell you're doctor if you have taken any MAO inhibitors in last two weeks: furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine, linezolid. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or doctor approval.
Profen Forte Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, quick or irregular heartbeat, & seizures.
Profen Forte special notes: don't share this product with others.
If you missed Profen Forte dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost clock for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Profen Forte Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. do not store in the bathroom.
