Iophen DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. this combination drug is used to treat cough associated with common cold, allergies and another respiratory illnesses.

How to use Iophen DM: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. don't increase your dose or take this more often than directed. Capsules and long-acting tablets must be swallowed whole with full glass of water. don't crush or chew them. long action will be destroyed & chance of side effects will be increased.

Iophen DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur the 1st some days as your body adjusts to med. If any about these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your physician. Notify you're healthcare professional if you develop any of these effects while taking this med: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if this pill makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or doctor.

Iophen DM Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor. since small amounts of this pill are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Iophen DM drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or physician approval.

Iophen DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.

Iophen DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it medication. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.

If you missed Iophen DM dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near time since next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Iophen DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
