Detuss Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. the low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control cough. the antihistamine is for relief from sneezing, runny nose, water eyes. it combination product is used to treat symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, hay fever and other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Detuss: Take this med as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take it more often than directed. this med is best taken with a full glass of water after meal or snack.
Detuss side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur the first few days as your body adjusts to drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit you're intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. Detuss medication interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine, narcotic pain tablet (e.g., codeine). Limit you're intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. don't start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or physician approval.
Detuss Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Detuss special notes: Drink plenty about fluids, especially water while taking it pill. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Detuss dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if this is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume some your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
