Mylanta Ii Usage: this is an antacid that works in stomach to neutralize and reduce acid. Antacids are used to treat an upset stomach caused by heartburn, acid indigestion, or sour stomach; to treat peptic ulcer, hiatal hernia or another conditions caused by an excess of stomach acid; & to prevent ulcers or bleeding from ulcers.
How to use Mylanta Ii: Take it drug as prescribed. Taking too much of an antacid can reverse the effects & more acid will be secreted. in certain conditions, however, it may be necessary to take antacid as frequently as all 1 to 2 hours. To be effective, chewable tablets must be chewed thoroughly before swallowing followed by full glass of water. Shake liquid forms well before pouring each dose. do not take any other drug within 1 to two hours of taking an antacid. since antacids coat stomach, they can prevent other drugs from being absorbed properly if taken at same time.
Mylanta Ii side effects: this medication can cause nausea, loss of appetite, constipation or diarrhea, weakness, or headache. If these symptoms persist or become severe, notify your healthcare professional. Notify your healthcare professional if you notice black, tarry stools while taking this drug. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or healthcare professional.
Mylanta Ii Precautions: Tell some your pharmacist your medical history, especially of: kidney problems.
Mylanta Ii drug interactions: Tell your doctor of every prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: tetracycline, ferrous sulfate (iron), tablets used for arthritis (e.g., aspirin, indomethacin), digoxin, isoniazid, pseudoephedrine, diazepam, methenamine, ketoconazole. don't start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or physician approval.
Mylanta Ii Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include dizziness, fatigue, weakness, severe nausea & vomiting, loss of appetite, drowsiness, slow or shallow breathing, or loss about consciousness.
Mylanta Ii special notes: Refrigerating liquid antacids may improve taste. do not freeze. If you dislike the taste about one antacid, speak to youre healthcare professional or pharmacist about switching to a similar product. the liquid antacid forms work faster & are more effective then the other forms. However, chewable meds may be more convenient.
If you missed Mylanta Ii dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if It's almost time for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Mylanta Ii Storage: Store tablets, capsules and powdered forms at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in bathroom. don't freeze liquid forms of this drug.
