Entuss Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Hydrocodone is a narcotic pain reliever at a low-dose which suppresses cough. this combination medication is used to treat cough and symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis and other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Entuss: Take this drug as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. this tablet is best taken with a full glass about water after a meal or snack.
Entuss side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, constipation, nausea or stomach upset may occur first several days as your body adjusts to the drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform you're pharmacist. Notify your physician if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, mental confusion, hallucinations, breathing trouble. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Entuss Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, emotional problems, history of drug dependency, allergies (especially tablet allergies). Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this medication causes you to feel drowsy. this med should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your pharmacist. for small amounts of this medication are found in breast milk, consult some your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Entuss medication interactions: Tell your doctor of all over-the-counter & prescription med you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, cimetidine. Limit some your intake about alcoholic beverages while taking it drug. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Entuss Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include slowed breathing, drowsiness, deep sleep or loss of consciousness, cold & clammy skin, dry mouth, and slow pulse.
Entuss special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it medication. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Entuss dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time since the following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Entuss Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store at bathroom.
