    Guaifenesin with dextromethorphan - oral

    Altarussin DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. this combination medication is used to treat a cough associated with common cold, allergies and other respiratory illnesses.

    How to use Altarussin DM: Take it drug as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. don't increase youre dose or take this more often than directed. Capsules & long-acting meds must be swallowed whole with full glass of water. do not crush or chew them. the long action will be destroyed and chance of side effects will be increased.

    Altarussin DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur 1st some days as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. Notify your doctor if you develop any about these effects while taking this medication: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if it tablet makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're physician or doctor.

    Altarussin DM Precautions: Tell youre doctor your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. it drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your physician. since small amounts about it medication found in breast milk, consult you're healthcare professional before breast-feeding.

    Altarussin DM drug interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). don't start or stop any medicine without physician or healthcare professional approval.

    Altarussin DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.

    Altarussin DM special notes: Drink plenty about fluids, especially water while taking it drug. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.

    If you missed Altarussin DM dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

    Altarussin DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
