Uni Tuss HC Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control cough. antihistamine is for relief from sneezing, runny nose, water eyes. this combination product is used to treat symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, hay fever & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Uni Tuss HC: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. this med is best taken with a full glass about water after a meal or snack.
Uni Tuss HC side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur first several days as your body adjusts to drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform you're doctor. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit youre intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify some your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're physician or pharmacist.
Uni Tuss HC Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, history of drug dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if it med causes you to feel drowsy. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult youre pharmacist promptly if this contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your doctor. since small amounts of this drug are found in breast milk, consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Uni Tuss HC drug interactions: Tell your physician of any over-the-counter or prescription pill you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping tablets, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine, narcotic pain medication (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking it medication. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Uni Tuss HC Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, weakness, profuse sweating, slow or fast heartbeat, slow or shallow breathing, hyperactivity, fever, seizures, or unconsciousness.
Uni Tuss HC special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it med. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Uni Tuss HC dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if Its near the time since the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Uni Tuss HC Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store in the bathroom.
