    Antibacterials - ophthalmic, otic

    Gentafair Usage: this medication is used to treat infections of eye (ophthalmic) or ear (otic).

    How to use Gentafair: Use it as prescribed. Continue using it for full time prescribed. Stopping therapy too soon may result in reinfection. To apply eye or ear drug, wash hands 1'st. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch the dropper or tube or let it touch affected area. Shake drops well before using. Hold ointment tube in some your hand for few minutes to make the medication flow easier. EYE med: Tilt your head back, gaze upward & pull down the lower eyelid to make pouch. for drops, place dropper directly over eye & administer prescribed number about drops. see downward & gently close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. With eye ointment, place drug inside lower lid using sweeping motion. Close eye & roll the eyeball. Remove excess ointment with a tissue. Try not to blink & don't rub the eye. If you using other kind of eye med, wait five to ten minutes before applying. EAR medication: Lie on your side or turn affected ear upward to make application easier. Place prescribed number of drops in ear. Avoid touching the ear canal. Keep the ear tilted for one to 2 minutes. a small piece of clean cotton may be placed in ear to prevent drops from escaping.

    Gentafair side effects: this drug may temporarily sting when first applied. If this effect persists or worsens, inform your healthcare professional promptly. in the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this med, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, redness, swelling or discharge (including eye or ear area), trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your pharmacist or pharmacist.

    Gentafair Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: every previous eye or ear problems, if you use contact lenses, any allergies. Vision may be temporarily blurred after applying eye medication. Use caution driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. it & all drugs should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy or when breast-feeding. Consult with your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

    Gentafair med interactions: Tell your physician of every medications you may use (both prescription and nonprescription), especially of: silver preparations, all other eye or ear antibiotic or corticosteroid (e.g., hydrocortisone) medications. do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or physician approval.

    Gentafair Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

    Gentafair special notes: Throw away any unused part of your prescription. don't save it to use for another infection. do not allow anyone else to use it medication. the infection may spread to another human if you accidentally contaminate medication.

    If you missed Gentafair dose: If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as remembered; do not use if Its almost time for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

    Gentafair Storage: Depending upon manufacturer, product may be stored in room temperature or refrigerated. Ask your pharmacist. do not store at the bathroom. do not freeze.
