Mylanta Double Strength Usage: this is an antacid that works in the stomach to neutralize and reduce acid. Antacids are used to treat an upset stomach caused by heartburn, acid indigestion, or sour stomach; to treat peptic ulcer, hiatal hernia or other conditions caused by an excess of stomach acid; and to prevent ulcers or bleeding from ulcers.
How to use Mylanta Double Strength: Take this drug as prescribed. Taking too much an antacid can reverse the effects and more acid will be secreted. in certain conditions, however, it may be necessary to take antacid as frequently as every 1 to two hours. To be effective, chewable pills must be chewed thoroughly before swallowing followed by a full glass of water. Shake liquid forms well before pouring each dose. don't take any another medication within 1 to 2 hours of taking an antacid. since antacids coat stomach, they can prevent another drugs from being absorbed properly if taken at same clock.
Mylanta Double Strength side effects: this medication can cause nausea, loss about appetite, constipation or diarrhea, weakness, or headache. If these symptoms persist or become severe, notify your physician. Notify your doctor if you notice black, tarry stools while taking this drug. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or physician.
Mylanta Double Strength Precautions: Tell youre doctor your medical history, especially about: kidney problems.
Mylanta Double Strength drug interactions: Tell your pharmacist about all prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: tetracycline, ferrous sulfate (iron), tablets used since arthritis (e.g., aspirin, indomethacin), digoxin, isoniazid, pseudoephedrine, diazepam, methenamine, ketoconazole. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Mylanta Double Strength Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include dizziness, fatigue, weakness, severe nausea & vomiting, loss about appetite, drowsiness, slow or shallow breathing, or loss of consciousness.
Mylanta Double Strength special notes: Refrigerating the liquid antacids may improve taste. do not freeze. If you dislike the taste of one antacid, chat to you're pharmacist or pharmacist about switching to similar product. liquid antacid forms work faster and more effective then other forms. However, chewable tablets may be more convenient.
If you missed Mylanta Double Strength dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; don't take if Its almost time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Mylanta Double Strength Storage: Store meds, capsules & powdered forms at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in bathroom. don't freeze liquid forms of it medication.
