Pink Bismuth Usage: this medication is used to treat indigestion, nausea, diarrhea; to relieve stomach cramps & to prevent traveler's diarrhea.
How to use Pink Bismuth: liquid form of this medication must be shaken well before pouring each dose. Chewable tablets must be chewed thoroughly or dissolved in mouth. Non-chewable tablets and caplets should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. the dose may be repeated every 30 minutes to one hour as needed but no more than 8 doses should be taken in 24 hour period.
Pink Bismuth side effects: this medication is generally well tolerated. Stools may appear gray-black in color while taking this medication. don't be alarmed. this will disappear when the drug is stopped. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Pink Bismuth Precautions: Tell your physician if you have: other illnesses, allergies (especially med allergies). this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your healthcare professional. since small amounts about this drug are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Pink Bismuth tablet interactions: Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take, including: aspirin, blood thinners, tetracycline antibiotics, medications for diabetes, medications for gout. don't start or stop any medicine with-out healthcare professional or physician approval.
Pink Bismuth Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include ringing in ears, dizziness, confusion, & coma.
Pink Bismuth special notes: If condition for which it was prescribed does not improve after 2 days or becomes worse or if a fever is present, notify your doctor.
If you missed Pink Bismuth dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take this if this is near the time since the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Pink Bismuth Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. liquid may be stored at refrigerator to improve the taste, but it is not necessary. do not store in the bathroom.
