Safe Tussin 30 Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. this combination medication is used to treat cough associated with the common cold, allergies and other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Safe Tussin 30: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. don't increase youre dose or take this more often than directed. Capsules & long-acting tablets should be swallowed whole with full glass about water. do not crush or chew them. the long action will be destroyed & the chance of side effects will be increased.
Safe Tussin 30 side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss about appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur 1st some days as your body adjusts to drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify you're doctor if you develop any of these effects while taking this medication: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if this pill makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Safe Tussin 30 Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional youre medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. this drug must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre doctor. since small amounts of this medication are found in breast milk, consult youre doctor before breast-feeding.
Safe Tussin 30 drug interactions: Tell your physician of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Safe Tussin 30 Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, and seizures.
Safe Tussin 30 special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this pill. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Safe Tussin 30 dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Safe Tussin 30 Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store in the bathroom.
