Tricof Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control cough. the antihistamine is for relief from sneezing, runny nose, water eyes. it combination product is used to treat symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, hay fever & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Tricof: Take this med as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. this drug is best taken with a full glass of water after meal or snack.
Tricof side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur first several days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform some your doctor. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit youre intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Tricof Precautions: Tell you're physician if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, hypertension, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, a history of drug dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this drug causes you to feel drowsy. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if this contains PPA or if you uncertain this product has PPA. this tablet must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. since small amounts of this drug are found in breast milk, consult you're pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Tricof drug interactions: Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine, narcotic pain med (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this med. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or healthcare professional approval.
Tricof Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, weakness, profuse sweating, slow or fast heartbeat, slow or shallow breathing, hyperactivity, fever, seizures, or unconsciousness.
Tricof special notes: Drink plenty about fluids, especially water while taking this medication. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Tricof dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near the time for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Tricof Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in bathroom.
