Citric acid/potassium-sodium citrates - oral liquid

Tricitrates Usage: this med makes urine less acidic. Its used in treatment of certain kidney disorders and gout.
How to use Tricitrates: it medication should be diluted in water before drinking to prevent stomach upset. Take the prescribed dose & dilute it in in least 1/2 glass of water. Stir to mix and drink, following with additional water. this is usually taken after meals & at bedtime. don't lie down since 30 minutes after taking this drug. Take it drug as prescribed. don't increase you're dose or take this more often without your doctor's approval.
Tricitrates side effects: Notify your physician if you develop: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, fluid retention, convulsions, unusual weakness, mental confusion, tingling or numbness about the hands or feet. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Tricitrates Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, liver disease, Addison's disease, high blood pressure, sodium-(salt)restricted diet (this tablet contains sodium), allergies (especially med allergies). it drug must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. since small amounts about this medication are found in breast milk, consult some your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Tricitrates drug interactions: Tell you're doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: lithium, chlorpropamide, methotrexate, aspirin, water tablets, certain heart medications (e.g., quinidine, digoxin), certain blood pressure pills (e.g., ACE inhibitors such as lisinopril; angiotensin blockers such as losartan), methenamine, tetracyclines (including doxycycline & minocycline), potassium supplements, azole antifungals (e.g., ketoconazole). don't start or stop any medicine with out physician or pharmacist approval.
Tricitrates Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include sluggishness, weakness, confusion, irregular heartbeat, or fainting.
Tricitrates special notes: While taking this med, it may be necessary for you to test pH (acidity) of your urine using special paper. pH will help determine proper dose.
If you missed Tricitrates dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if this is near time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Tricitrates Storage: the liquid may be stored at room temperature or in the refrigerator, which will help improve the flavor.
