Guaifenesin with dextromethorphan - oral

Iobid DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. this combination medication is used to treat a cough associated with common cold, allergies & other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Iobid DM: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase you're dose or take this more many times than directed. Capsules and long-acting tablets must be swallowed whole with full glass of water. do not crush or chew them. the long action will be destroyed & the chance about side effects will be increased.

Iobid DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur the 1-st several days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your pharmacist if you develop any of these effects while taking this medication: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if this drug makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or physician.

Iobid DM Precautions: Tell your physician your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. since small amounts of this medication are found in breast milk, consult some your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.

Iobid DM drug interactions: Tell youre healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or pharmacist approval.

Iobid DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.

Iobid DM special notes: Drink plenty about fluids, especially water while taking this medication. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.

If you missed Iobid DM dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take this if It's near clock for following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Iobid DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in the bathroom.
