Despec Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous & congestion. Phenylephrine is decongestant which helps relieve nasal congestion. it combination pill is used to treat symptoms associated with cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
How to use Despec: Take this medication by mouth. tablets should be swallowed whole. don't crush or chew them. If stomach upset occurs, it may be taken with food or milk. Take this medication as directed. don't increase the dose or take it more often or longer than prescribed. it is recommended to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses a day) to help relieve congestion.
Despec side effects: Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may occur the 1st few days as your body adjusts to the med. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficult or painful urination, difficulty sleeping. Because this medication may cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness and avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate it effect. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Despec Precautions: Tell some your pharmacist if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history about seizures. it drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risk & benefits with your doctor. It's not known if it med appears at breast milk; consult some your physician before breast-feeding.
Despec medication interactions: Tell you're doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: sleeping tablets, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, medication for depression, medication for high blood pressure. Tell your healthcare professional if you have, in last two weeks, taken any MAO inhibitors: furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine, linezolid. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Despec Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include headache, dizziness, blurred vision, unusually quick or slow heartbeat, numbness of the fingers, vomiting, drowsiness, fatigue, or seizures.
Despec special notes: do not share this product with others.
If you missed Despec dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take if this is almost clock for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Despec Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. don't store in the bathroom.
