Corticosteroids - topical
Desoximetasone Usage: this medication is used to treat swelling, inflammation, or itching about skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, rashes, insect bites, poison ivy, allergies & other irritations.
How to use Desoximetasone: Clean and dry affected region before applying the medication. To apply, gently massage a little about tablet in to affected area & surrounding skin. do not bandage, wrap or cover area treated unless you instructed to do so by your physician. do not use plastic pants or tight fitting diapers on children being treated with this drug at diaper area. Avoid using this drug around the eyes unless directed to do so by you're doctor.
Desoximetasone side effects: it drug may cause burning, stinging, itching, or redness when first applied to the skin. this should disappear in some days as your body adjusts to medication. this med may also cause skin thinning and discoloration. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform youre doctor. Skin infections can become worse when using this drug. Notify youre physician if redness, swelling or irritation does not improve. Very unlikely to occur but report promptly the following side effects: unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea/vomiting, fainting, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.
Desoximetasone Precautions: do not use this medication near eyes if you have glaucoma. Treatment with clobetasol, halobetasol propionate and augmented betamethasone dipropionate beyond two weeks consecutively isn't recommended. don't use if theyre is an infection or sores present on the area to be treated. Though very unlikely, it is possible it medication will be absorbed into some your bloodstream. this may have undesirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. this is especially true for children & for those who have used this for an extended period if they also have serious medical problems such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries. this precaution applies for up to one year after stopping use of this drug. Consult your healthcare professional or pharmacist for more details. it drug should be used cautiously during pregnancy & only if clearly needed. Discuss benefits and risks with your doctor. Small amounts of this med may appear in breast milk. Consult with your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Desoximetasone medication interactions: Tell your physician of every medications you may use, (both prescription & nonprescription), especially of: prednisone (or similar drugs), other skin medicines. do not start or stop any medicine with-out doctor or pharmacist approval.
Desoximetasone Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Desoximetasone special notes: Inform all your pharmacists you use (or have used) this drug. do not share this drug with others.
If you missed Desoximetasone dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use if It's almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Desoximetasone Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight. Avoid freezing.
Medical alert: your condition may cause complications at a medical emergency.
