    Decongestant/antihistamine/anticholinergic - oral

    Omnihist L Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. Antihistamines relieve runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose & throat & itchy, watery eyes. Anticholinergics have drying effect on mucous secretions. this combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis and other respiratory illnesses.

    How to use Omnihist L: Take it medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. this medication is best taken with full glass of water after meal or snack. Long-acting pills & capsules should be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew them or long action may be destroyed & chance of side effects increased.

    Omnihist L a side effects: Dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, blurred vision, constipation or dry mouth, nose & eyes may occur the 1-st several days as your body adjusts to drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre physician. Notify youre doctor if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use saliva substitute. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

    Omnihist L a Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: pre-existing kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, any allergies. bucks this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your physician promptly if it contains PPA or if you uncertain it product has PPA. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. since small amounts of this medication found in breast milk, consult youre pharmacist before breast-feeding.

    Omnihist L pill interactions: Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: med for blood pressure, medication for depression such as MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline). Tell your physician if you take drugs that cause drowsiness such as: medicine since sleep, sedatives, tranquilizers, anti-anxiety medications (e.g., diazepam), narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines (e.g., phenothiazines or tricyclics), anti- seizure drugs (e.g., carbamazepine), muscle relaxants. Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. don't start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.

    Omnihist L Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, headache, weakness, disorientation, hyperactivity, restlessness, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, quick breathing, fever, hot dry & flushed skin, seizures, or coma.

    Omnihist L a special notes: Drink plenty about fluids, especially water while taking this medication. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.

    If you missed Omnihist L dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the clock for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

    Omnihist L a Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store in the bathroom.
