Decongestant/narcotic antitussive/antihistamine - oral
Z Cof HC Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control a cough. antihistamine is for relief from sneezing, runny nose, water eyes. this combination product is used to treat symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, hay fever & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Z Cof HC: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take it more often then directed. this medication is best taken with full glass of water after meal or snack.
Z Cof HC side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss about appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur first several days as you're body adjusts to pill. If any about these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your physician. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify youre physician if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're physician or physician.
Z Cof HC Precautions: Tell you're doctor if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, hypertension, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, history of drug dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this medication causes you to feel drowsy. cash this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if this contains PPA or if you uncertain it product has PPA. this tablet should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your pharmacist. since small amounts about this drug are found at breast milk, consult youre doctor before breast-feeding.
Z Cof HC drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping tablets, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine, narcotic pain med (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this med. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Z Cof HC Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, weakness, profuse sweating, slow or fast heartbeat, slow or shallow breathing, hyperactivity, fever, seizures, or unconsciousness.
Z Cof HC special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it med. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Z Cof HC dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if it is near clock for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Z Cof HC Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
