Sulfolax Usage: this drug helps fluids to mix with the stool to keep them from becoming hard or dry. this is used to treat constipation.
How to use Sulfolax: Swallow capsules & pills whole with full glass of water or juice. liquid and syrup forms must be given in 6 to 8 ounces of milk or juice to prevent throat irritation. Relief is usually obtained in 1 to 3 days after first dose.
Sulfolax side effects: this medication may cause stomach ache, cramping or irritated throat (liquid and syrup forms). If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your physician. Notify your healthcare professional if you experience: skin rash, rectal bleeding, lack of bowel movements. Frequent use about laxatives can cause dehydration & loss of essential nutrients. Symptoms include muscle cramps, muscle weakness or dizziness. Maintain an adequate fluid intake while using this medication. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're doctor or physician.
Sulfolax Precautions: do not take aspirin (unless prescribed by you're doctor) or mineral oil while taking stool softeners. If you pregnant or breast-feeding, don't take over-the-counter stool softeners (or any other nonprescription medication) without obtaining your doctor's advice.
Sulfolax drug interactions: this drug isn't recommended for use with mineral oil. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more details. Tell some your pharmacist of all prescription & nonprescription tablet you may use, especially aspirin.
Sulfolax Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Sulfolax special notes: Laxatives should only be used temporarily until normal bowel habits return. Prolonged use can lead to laxative dependence. To prevent constipation: drink 4 to 6 glasses of water daily, include bulk or roughage in some your diet, & exercise regularly.
If you missed Sulfolax dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; don't take if this is almost time for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Sulfolax Storage: Store in room temperature away from sunlight and moisture.
