Desonide Usage: it medication is used to treat swelling, inflammation, or itching about skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, rashes, insect bites, poison ivy, allergies & another irritations.
How to use Desonide: Clean & dry affected area before applying the medication. To apply, gently massage small amount of the pill into the affected region & surrounding skin. don't bandage, wrap or cover area treated unless you are instructed to do so by your healthcare professional. do not use plastic pants or tight fitting diapers on children being treated with this medication at diaper region. Avoid using this medication around eyes unless directed to do so by your healthcare professional.
Desonide side effects: this medication can cause burning, stinging, itching, or redness when first applied to skin. this should disappear at few days as your body adjusts to the medication. this drug may also cause skin thinning and discoloration. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Skin infections can become worse when using this medication. Notify your pharmacist if redness, swelling or irritation does not improve. Very unlikely to occur but report promptly the next side effects: unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea/vomiting, fainting, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Desonide Precautions: do not use it drug near the eyes if you have glaucoma. Treatment with clobetasol, halobetasol propionate & augmented betamethasone dipropionate beyond two weeks consecutively is not recommended. do not use if theyre is an infection or sores present on the area to be treated. Though very unlikely, it is possible this drug will be absorbed into youre bloodstream. this may have undesirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. this is especially true for children & for those who have used it for an extended period if they also have serious medical problems such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries. this precaution applies for up to one year after stopping use of it medication. Consult your physician or healthcare professional for more following text. this drug should be used cautiously during pregnancy & only if clearly needed. Discuss benefits & risks with some your healthcare professional. Small amounts about this drug may appear in breast milk. Consult with your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Desonide medication interactions: Tell your doctor of every drugs you may use, (both prescription and nonprescription), especially about: prednisone (or similar drugs), other skin medicines. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or physician approval.
Desonide Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Desonide special notes: Inform all your doctors you use (or have used) this med. don't share this drug with others.
If you missed Desonide dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use if it is almost time since the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume you're usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Desonide Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight. Avoid freezing.
