Guaifenesin/dextromethorphan/decongestant - oral
Z Cof DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses a cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. it combination medication is used to treat a cough and relieve symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Z Cof DM: this drug is best taken with full glass about water after a meal or snack. Swallow long acting tablets and capsules whole. do not crush or chew them because the long action will be destroyed & the chance about side effects will be increased. Take it tablet as prescribed. don't increase you're dose or take this more often than directed.
Z Cof DM side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss about appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your pharmacist. Notify your physician if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Z Cof DM Precautions: Tell some your doctor youre medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any tablet allergies. cash this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult youre pharmacist promptly if this contains PPA or if you are uncertain it product has PPA. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your physician. this drug may be excreted into breast milk. Consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Z Cof DM med interactions: Tell your physician about all prescription & nonprescription drugs you use, especially: medication since blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. do not start or stop any medicine with-out physician or pharmacist approval.
Z Cof DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss about coordination, unusual movements of eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change in behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or fast heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, large pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.
Z Cof DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this drug. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Z Cof DM dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if It's near the time since next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't double the dose to catch up.
Z Cof DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
