    Clorazepate Dipotassium Usage: Clorazepate is used to treat anxiety, acute alcohol withdrawal, & seizures. this tablet belongs to class about pills called benzodiazepines which act on brain & nerves (central nervous system) to produce a calming effect. it works by enhancing the effects of certain natural chemical in the body (GABA).

    How to use Clorazepate Dipotassium: Take this tablet by mouth as directed by some your doctor. the dosage is based on your medical condition & response to therapy. Use this tablet exactly as prescribed. do not increase you're dose, take it more frequently or use this for a longer period of time than prescribed because this tablet can be habit-forming. Also, if used for an extended period of time or for seizure control, don't suddenly stop using this med without your doctor's approval. few conditions may become worse when the drug is abruptly stopped. your dose may need to be gradually decreased. When used for an extended period, this drug may not work as well and may require different dosing. talk with your doctor if this medication stops working well.

    Clorazepate Dipotassium side effects: Drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, dry mouth, upset stomach, constipation, blurred vision, or headache may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Tell youre doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: mental/mood changes, slurred speech, clumsiness, trouble walking, decreased/increased interest in sex, tremor, trouble urinating, sleep disturbances. Tell your doctor immediately if any about these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: stomach/abdominal pain, persistent nausea, vomiting, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, persistent sore throat or fever. a serious allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate healthcare attention if it occurs. Symptoms about a serious allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.

    Clorazepate Dipotassium Precautions: Before using this drug, tell your physician or doctor you're medical history, especially of: liver disease, kidney disease, lung/breathing problems (e.g., COPD, sleep apnea), tablet or alcohol abuse, any allergies. this drug may make you dizzy, drowsy or cause blurred vision; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. Caution is advised when using this medication in elderly because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the med, especially the drowsiness effect. it pill is not recommended for use during pregnancy due to potential for fetal harm. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform your pharmacist immediately. Consult your healthcare professional for more details. this drug passes into breast milk & may have undesirable effects on nursing infant. Therefore, breast-feeding while using this medication is not recommended. Consult youre pharmacist before breast-feeding.

    Clorazepate Dipotassium drug interactions: this med should not be used with following drugs because very serious interactions may occur: sodium oxybate. If you currently using any of these medications, tell your healthcare professional or physician before starting clorazepate. Before using this tablet, tell you're pharmacist or pharmacist of every prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of: antacids, certain anti-depressants (e.g., fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, nefazodone), cimetidine, clozapine, digoxin, disulfiram, kava, levodopa. Tell you're pharmacist or pharmacist if you also take drugs that cause drowsiness such as: antihistamines that cause drowsiness (e.g., diphenhydramine), anti-seizure drugs (e.g., carbamazepine), medicine for sleep (e.g., sedatives), muscle relaxants, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines (e.g., phenothiazines such as chlorpromazine, or tricyclics such as amitriptyline), tranquilizers. money labels on all youre medicines (e.g., cough-and-cold products) because they may contain drowsiness-causing ingredients. Ask you're pharmacist about the safe use about those goods. Smoking can decrease the effectiveness about this tablet (through liver enzyme induction). Tell your doctor if you smoke or if you have recently stopped smoking because your dose may need to be adjusted. don't start or stop any medicine with-out healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.

    Clorazepate Dipotassium Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe drowsiness, slowed/reduced reflexes, slowed breathing, loss about consciousness.

    Clorazepate Dipotassium special notes: do not share this drug with others. It's against the law. If this drug is used for an extended period of time, laboratory and/or medical tests (e.g., liver function tests, complete blood count) may be performed periodically to check for side effects. Consult your pharmacist for more details.

    If you missed Clorazepate Dipotassium dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up. If you are taking this med for seizures, take it if remembered within 1 hour of the missed dose, but skip it if more than 1 hour has passed.

    Clorazepate Dipotassium Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light & moisture. do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from child & pets.
