Ranitidine HCL Usage: this drug reduces the amount about acid in your stomach. It's used to treat & prevent ulcers, to treat gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD), & to treat conditions associated with excessive acid secretion.
How to use Ranitidine HCL: this med is best taken with or immediately after meals. Antacids & sucralfate can block the effect of this medication. If you taking an antacid in addition to this medication, separate doses about each medication by at least one half hour. If you are taking sucralfate at addition to this medication, take ranitidine 2 hours before sucralfate. don't stop taking this medication with-out your doctor's approval. Stopping therapy too soon may delay healing of ulcer.
Ranitidine HCL side effects: Nausea, diarrhea, headache, or dizziness may occur at 1st as youre body adjusts to drug. If these effects persist or become bothersome, inform you're pharmacist. Notify some your pharmacist if you experience: unusual bleeding or bruising, pounding chest pain, rash, difficulty sleeping, mental changes, extreme weakness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or pharmacist.
Ranitidine HCL Precautions: Before using it med, tell youre physician or pharmacist you're medical history, especially of: heartburn combined with lightheadedness or sweating or dizziness, chest pain or shoulder/jaw pain especially with shortness of breath, pain spreading to arms or neck or shoulders, unexplained weight loss, liver or kidney problems, tobacco use (smoking), other stomach problems (e.g., tumors), any allergies (including medication allergies). gir who are pregnant or breast-feeding should inform their pharmacists before taking it drug.
Ranitidine HCL medication interactions: Tell your doctor of all over-the-counter & prescription drug you may use, especially of: ketoconazole, itraconazole, triazolam. this drug is available in both prescription and over-the-counter formulations. do not take both at same time. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or physician approval.
Ranitidine HCL Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include difficulty breathing, fast heartbeat, tremors, vomiting, restlessness, weakness, fatigue, or dizziness.
Ranitidine HCL special notes: you're healthcare professional may recommend some lifestyle changes such as stress-reducing programs, diet changes & exercise to assist in treatment & prevention of ulcers. Ranitidine may affect results of tests for urine protein. Be sure to tell your pharmacist you taking ranitidine.
If you missed Ranitidine HCL dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if this is almost time for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Ranitidine HCL Storage: Store between 36 and 77 degrees F (between 2 & 25 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. do not store in bathroom.
